Sisters and Brothers:Last evening we had an exclusive strategy call with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, President Obama's point person on health care reform. As Secretary Sebelius said, "No major piece of social legislation has ever passed without support from organized labor."So we’re going to need that call, including keeping up the pressure for a public health insurance plan. The very existence of a public option will mean more choice and competition to drive down our premium costs, freeing up resources at the bargaining table.
